My favirote Picture from the first year...

One Year Old!!!

My little princess is one year old tom. I have to say this year truely has gone by really fast. And out of all the hundreds of pictures I have taken my favirote is still the tutu! :) I remember the excitement I had when my water broke... I couldn't go back to sleep... I sat out on the couch eating popsicles watching knocked up in the middle of the night. :) Then the long drawn out labor with the awful pitocin... and I certainly can't forget the pushing for 3 hours and the horrible pain when they told me stop pushing you have to have a c-section... oh yeah and you have to wait for 30 mins. to get drugs! But all of that and the not-so-fun pregnancy was more than worth it... when I look at my beautiful perfect baby.

Madelyn Sue is a really amazing baby... I can't help but think that she got part of Gramma Karen's personality... She is just so happy all the time. She smiles and is the sweetest little thing... Most of the time! Sometimes I can't believe that I have a baby.. it feels so surreal. Joe and I are the luckiest parents in the world to have such a perfect baby. And we can't imagine loving her more than we do... Now that I've said how perfect Maddie is I know I have jinxed myself for a terrible second baby... (if there is going to be a second baby)

Photos and Updates

It's been a little while since I've posted anything... Been busy with work and baby. We also had our kitchen countertops tiled- bye bye blue famica! (not sure if that's how you spell it) And getting ready for lots of family to come up for Maddie's first big birthday. Such a big girl.
Above Maddie is biting the coffee table. She is worse than Mazie when she was a puppy... she has bite marks all around the table and her crib. We tell her "no" and she hits the table with her hand and keeps doing it. Yes, she is my child!

This is Maddie on her choo-choo she now climbs on it backwards and tries to stand up. She isn't quite brave enough yet... She starts to and when it gets wobbly she sits back down.
This is Uncle Jesse drinking a Mirror Pond with Madelyn. yes, my little one LOVES beer. Last weekend daddy was watching an A's game with maddie sitting on his lap. She took his beer and tasted... and then wouldn't give it back! So now we have to give her -her very own beer (empty of course!)

Maddies first ranch trip!

Joe and I went out to the ranch last weekend - so Joe could go turkey hunting. I usually pass on going to the ranch because it's not a baby friendly place. But it was nice weather so we went! Maddie is not quite sure if she likes grass or not... she just sat in it... she wouldn't crawl around or anything. We only stayed one night but enough for Maddie to see the ranch and the animals.
On another note, Maddie is ELEVEN months old today... I can't believe she is going to be one in a month. Crazy! I've been very busy trying to plan a party... But I think I got it figured out. (Not that she will even remember her first b-day)

Bye Bye Daddy!

Mazie and Maddie both look out the kitchen window to see people coming and going. Unfortunately, today it was Daddy going. Joe got a job in Salem and had to leave town this afternoon. I'm super bummed about it. I'm grateful that in this economy he is lucky enough to have work but I just hate that it has to be out of town. That means that for the next 5 days I play single mommy! And I hate it. It's a lot of work and can be pretty lonely at times... Ie.. right now the baby is in bed and it's normally my time to chat with Joe over a glass of wine before we go to bed. So instead I'm blogging. Probably not a good thing to be blogging when I'm sad and pms-ing! Joe is happy he is gone this week. :) I just keep praying that this will end soon and we can have a normal life again with Joe home at night after work. Maddie doesn't understand.. thank goodness- that would make it really hard if she cried when he left. But poor Mazie is so sad. She sulked all day as he was packing up to go and just follows me around with her big sad brown eyes.
Okay- enough feeling sorry for myself... I'm going to go do some yoga!
